Gary Davison

Gary started playing trombone with the Salvation Army in 1969. After a period with the local brass band, Gary won a scholarship to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a Junior Exhibitioner on Saturdays. He then won a place in the Hertfordshire Youth Orchestra, playing at the Royal Albert Hall twice, Snape Maltings and on a tour to Warsaw during the late 1970s.

Gary also has a passion for jazz, playing in various small groups and big bands in East Anglia including the Cambridge-based 78 RPM Big Band, for whom he is currently the lead trombone. Gary joined Prime Brass in 2003 and is involved in the management of the group.

Gary lives in Hemingford Grey with his wife Julie and children Emma and James. Gary runs a busy estate agency business in King's Lynn and enjoys attending gigs featuring his son James, who is now a freelance professional trumpet player.
